F2C Nutrition Rehab Performance & Repair

For Athletic Performance - this product supplies a clinically studied 1:1 ratio of NMN and TMG at the maximum dosage of 1200 mg each per serving amount used in clinical research on endurance athletes and runners. It showed significant advancements in the body's ability to utilize oxygen in the skeletal muscles, a key factor for endurance. It also increased ventilatory threshold meaning athletes could maintain higher intensities for longer before fatigue set in. Research indicates enhanced recovery by supporting muscle repair, reducing inflammation, and fighting oxidative stress, this may speed up recovery times between intense workouts.

For Wellness and General Health - taking NMN with TMG can support cellular health and longevity. TMG acts as a methyl donor, which is crucial in the cell's methylation processes which helps in DNA repair, neurotransmitter and hormone production and detoxification. NMN, is a precursor to NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide), a vital coenzyme involved in energy metabolism and DNA repair. The combination of these two supplements can optimize the benefits of both by ensuring adequate methylation, leading to improved energy levels, better cognitive function, and enhanced overall health.

Understanding NMN and TMG

Before diving deeper into the reasons for combining NMN and TMG, it is essential to understand what each compound is and how they function in the body.

NMN, or Nicotinamide Mononucleotide,

Is a nucleotide derived from ribose and nicotinamide. It is a precursor to NAD+, a coenzyme essential for energy production within cells. NAD+ levels decline with age, leading to reduced cellular function and increased vulnerability to diseases. Supplementing with NMN has been shown to boost NAD+ levels, enhance mitochondrial function, and support various aspects of health.

TMG, or Trimethylglycine,

Is a naturally occurring compound found in various foods, including beets, spinach, broccoli and whole grains. It serves multiple roles in the body, primarily functioning as a methyl donor in methylation reactions but also builds collagen, reduces muscle loss and supports liver detoxification.

The Importance of Methylation

Methylation is a critical biochemical process that affects cellular functions including gene expression (a cell’s ability to use its own manufacturing instructions), DNA repair, detoxification, and the metabolism of various nutrients. Adequate methylation is essential for maintaining health and preventing age-related diseases. However, as we age, our methylation capacity can decline, leading to health issues.

This is where TMG plays a critical role as a methyl donor. By providing the necessary methyl groups, TMG helps support efficient methylation processes. When combined with NMN, TMG can enhance the benefits of increased NAD+ levels by ensuring that the body has sufficient methylation capacity to utilize NAD+ effectively.

Benefits of Combining NMN with TMG

Mitochondrial Biogenesis and Function

Taking NMN and TMG helps create new mitochondria through a process called mitochondrial biogenesis. It works by activating SIRT1, which then boosts PGC-1α, the main controller of mitochondrial production. This leads to more mitochondria in cells, which is crucial for endurance exercises that need aerobic energy. Research published in the journal Nature supports this mechanism of action.

Oxygen Utilization and Endurance

The improvement in aerobic capacity observed in clinical trials appears to come mainly from better oxygen use in skeletal muscles. NMN helps create new blood vessels (angiogenesis), which increases blood flow and delivers more nutrients to muscles during exercise. This provides muscles with enough oxygen to work efficiently and maintain endurance during long workouts.

Efficient Energy Management

NMN supplements activate enzymes that help with lipolysis, which lets athletes burn fat more efficiently during exercise. This helps save glycogen stores, which are crucial for long-lasting endurance. This metabolic flexibility especially benefits endurance athletes who need to manage their energy input efficiently during extended training or competitions.

Recovery and Anti-inflammatory Effects

NMN supplements may speed up recovery after exercise by helping muscle repair, lowering inflammation, and fighting oxidative damage. Research in showed that giving NMN reduced pro-inflammatory cytokines, suggesting it has anti-inflammatory benefits that could help athletes recover faster between workouts.

Improved Cognitive Function

Higher NAD+ levels are associated with improved cognitive function. By combining TMG with NMN, individuals may experience better mental clarity, focus, and overall cognitive health.

Support for DNA Repair

NAD+ plays a critical role in DNA repair mechanisms. Adequate methylation supported by TMG may enhance the body's ability to repair DNA, reducing the risk of age-related diseases.

Better Mood and Stress Resilience

Some studies suggest that TMG may help improve mood and reduce stress levels. When combined with NMN, the potential for enhanced mood and stress resilience may be significant due to improved energy and cognitive function.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does NMN supplementation work better for certain types of athletes?

Research indicates NMN may particularly help endurance athletes by boosting aerobic capacity, oxygen use, and metabolic efficiency. The benefits appear stronger for submaximal exercise performance rather than peak output, suggesting NMN works better for longer duration activities rather than short, explosive efforts.

Can NMN help with recovery between training sessions?

Evidence indicates NMN supplements may enhance recovery after exercise by supporting muscle repair, decreasing inflammation, and reducing oxidative damage. In some studies, NMN reduced pro-inflammatory cytokines, which could help athletes recover more quickly between intense workouts.

How long does it take to see athletic benefits from NMN supplementation?

Studies showing benefits from taking daily NMN supplementation typically start immediately with the significant increase in benefits peaking at 4 weeks. The six-week study on amateur runners showed clear improvements in aerobic capacity during this period. However, people may respond differently, and some mitochondrial function improvements may take longer to fully develop. Continued supplementation is necessary for ongoing benefits.

Is NMN better than creatine for athletic performance?

Creatine has more extensive research backing its ability to increase strength and muscle mass, making it potentially better for athletic performance, particularly in strength sports. NMN research shows more focus on endurance, recovery, and health/longevity benefits. Depending on goals and training focus, many athletes might find value in taking both supplements.

What is the recommended dosage of NMN for athletes?

Researchers examined doses from 150-1200 mg, with medium to higher amounts (600-1200 mg) yielding the best athletic performance results. Lower doses (around 300-600 mg) still offer health benefits but might not be ideal for boosting performance. According to clinical studies, 600 mg daily appears most effective for general wellness and maintenance.
